New Way To Add Robust Gutters And Repair Faulty Ones
AcroTech provides a full range of minor gutter repairs and gutter guard or screening installations for most Metro Vancouver communities.
So You’ve Got A Situation On Your Hands…
The seals on a mitered corner of your gutter system have broken. The ‘floodgates’ have opened and your home is vulnerable to damage. What do you do?
Expansion joint and end cap sealant are required to contain water WITHIN your gutter systems. This allows it to flow through outlets and down pipes safely channeling it away from your home.
Seal failures occur over time for a variety of reasons i.e. Contamination of the original metal surface, oxidization, excessive debris, continuous pooling of water, expansion of water through freezing, movement of fascia board, expansion and contraction of the aluminum, inadequate caulking, improper installation etc.
If you don’t take action to repair it, leaks can prematurely rot roof systems, stain building exteriors, erode landscaping, damage concrete, stone or asphalt drive or walkways. Worse yet – The constant dripping can keep you awake at night.
What Our Competitors Think They Can Do
Our competitors try everything from silicone, gutter caulking, super sealants and roofing tar to start the mess. They’ll clean the surface and apply the new sealant over the old one. For one to three months, it will look like the problem is solved BUT slowly the leaks reappear. A common response to your complaints is ‘you didn’t use enough caulking’. So they pile on the caulking – Most of which forms a durable skin cure within 30 minutes of the original installation and is virtually impossible to bond to. All this while the results remain the same and you are left in the dust.
AcroTech To The Rescue
At AcroTech, we treat your home with care. We professionally install specialized sealants which means you’ll have a leak-free system. We remove all the old caulking and grind the surface with a wire brush. This removes oxidation and exposes fresh aluminum. Next we clean the surface with a specialized solvent to remove surface contaminants and then apply the new sealant. We use a one part high quality blend of synthetic rubber and resin. It exhibits excellent elastomeric properties, while maintaining superior adhesion to aluminum under the conditions. Our method ensures no air pockets during installation which means NO WATER LEAKS! We also ensure an adequate volume of caulking to allow for a full cure and the aluminum’s expansion and contraction.
The Impossible Gutter Seal
If we cannot remove all the old caulking, we’ll install a new Box Mitre. This is done by cutting out the entire gutter corner and installing a new aluminum one to match the existing profile and color. We mechanically fasten it in place and install new caulking on fresh aluminum to form a warrantied seal.
